Ulla Wiggen was born in 1942 in Stockholm, Sweden, where she lives and works. His works are exhibited in the central pavilion of the Biennale at the Giardini.
The works of Ulla Wiggen, presented at the Venice Biennale, were made between 1964 and 1968 and have cybernetics as their central theme.
Artistic representations of the applications of cybernetic machines as they could be seen or represented at the time.
In fact, they make us think more of the interiors of old radios than of miniaturized circuit boards, components invisible to the naked eye today.
This does not detract from the aesthetic qualities of Ulla Wiggen's works, even if you can find a little “retro” side to them.
More than fifty years ago, Ulla Wiggen's vision of a cybernetic world was indeed already totally cutting-edge.
