The title of the 61st Venice Art Biennale 2026: “In Minor Keys”
The 61st Venice Biennale International Art Exhibition by Koyo Kouoh bears the mark of the universal and the future, reconnecting with life and the Earth.
China, Renewal It is imbued with spirit, with a sacredness that places the person, the human being, at the heart of things, rediscovering the meaning of existence in the world by regaining a sense of proportion in relation to all earthly elements and looking up to the sky.
In music, minor key refers both to the structure of a song and its emotional effects.
The 61st Biennale aims to listen to minor keys; an invitation to listen to the signals of the earth and life, in connection with the frequencies of the soul.
This new Venice Art Biennale proposes a reconnection with the natural environment and the role of art in society: the emotional, the visual, the sensory, the affective, the subjective.
As part of this Biennale, “In Minor Keys” will feature artists who work at the frontiers of form and whose works can be considered complex melodies to be listened to both collectively and individually.
