Ali Cherri Venice Biennale Art Exhibition
Ali Cherri was born in 1976, he lives and works in Beyrout (Lebanon) and Paris (France). His works are exhibited at the Arsenal in Venice.
The Titans in terracotta, made by the Lebanese artist Ali Cherri evoke the deities of ancient mythology who told the story of these fantastic beings who appeared at the origins of the world.
They recall the time of the emergence of the elements and the birth of countless living beings, followed by the appearance of man modelled in a matter made of a mixture of earth and water.
Modelled by a contemporary artist in the manner of the ancients, or the creator God of men, the Titans evoke the beginning of a crumbling, and the threat of a disappearance fought by the will to last with a spirit turned towards the future.
