Yamandú Canosa’s work presented at the Uruguay Pavilion at the 2019 Venice Art Biennale under the title “La Casa Empàtica” is a dramatic and discursive synthesis of the artist’s visual poetry.

This title relates to the life and career of Yamandú Canosa.

Wittgenstein believed that the limits of our world were those of language.

Here, it is through her narrative language that Canosa tries to connect this house of empathy to the theme of this 2019 Venice Art Biennal: “May You Live in Interesting Times

A theme that connects us to the uncertainty, crises and turmoil of our current world.

Yamandú Canosa was born in Montevideo in 1954, he lives and works in Barcelona and Montevideo.
