Julie Mehretu born in 1970 in Ethiopia, lives and works in New York.

Julie Mehretu, Flo Me La Her works are exhibited at the Venice Art Biennale, in the Arsenal Corderie and in the central pavilion of the Giardini.

In her recent works, the use of airbrushing coupled with printed elements gives an impression of disorientation.

Lines, curves, colours, strokes of light intersect, multiply and mingle to form works of significant presence.

Almost living works. We have the impression that they emit pulsations, that these lines, these colours and these curves move, stretch, contract before our eyes.

A form of abstraction all its own and perfectly controlled.
