Asim Waqif, Ranjani Shettar et Skarma Sonam Tashi au Indian Pavilion, Venice Biennale 2026

Skarma Sonam Tashi, Echoes of home “Geographies of Distance: Remembering Home” is a group exhibition marking India’s return to the Venice Biennale.
Skarma Sonam Tashi, “Echoes of Home”, has created these small houses stacked in tiers to evoke a village clinging to the steep slopes of a mountain.
He created his work using papier-mâché and recycled materials.
The installation evokes humanity’s adaptation to a harsh, rocky landscape that demands constant maintenance to preserve homes threatened by climatic variations.

Ranjani Shettar, Under the same sky Ranjani Shettar’s suspended sculpture, ‘Under the same sky’, catches the eye with the beauty of its elements, which come together to form a harmonious whole worthy of the finest goldsmith’s work.
Hence the pleasure of looking up to admire the delicacy of these leaves and these white and yellow flowers with their delicate outlines that defy the laws of gravity.
Asim Waqif’s work ‘Chaal’, composed solely of interwoven bamboo, gives the impression of a hastily erected temporary structure, a scaffold, or a repair in progress.
