The work of Alioune Diagne at the Senegal Pavilion at the Arsenale, Venice Art Biennale

At the Senegal Pavilion, you can see the work of Alioune Diagne, a Franco-Senegalese artist and his project “Bokk-Bounds” whose theme is what is shared and pooled, and particularly through family ties.

To this end, he has created a large wall panel featuring several of his works, depicting scenes from everyday life, Senegalese traditions and children's education, as well as dramatic scenes relating to current disasters, including the migratory phenomena resulting from climate change.

A large traditional Senegalese pirogue is displayed in front of the wall panel.

It is broken in two and represents the tragedy of migration.
