The beautiful flower nymphs, Flora and Chloris, were then joined by Neptune, brandishing his trident like a sceptre to assert his power over the seas.

Rising from the Adriatic Sea, the famous Captain Nemo, welcomed by a Venetian senator, then arrived on the mysterious island called Venice, accompanied by the violinist of the Nautilus in honour of the Venetian Antonio Vivaldi, who officiated in the nearby church of the Pietà.
