What should you wear to performances at La Fenice Opera House in Venice?

For the opening nights of the opera and symphony seasons, and for New Year’s concerts, it is recommended that you wear dark-coloured clothing; men should wear a tuxedo if possible.

For other premieres, ladies are advised to wear a dark dress and men a jacket and tie.

On other evenings, jeans with a shirt are permitted.

For matinee performances, a more casual style is acceptable, but shorts and sleeveless T-shirts are not permitted.
