This restaurant (where Hugo Pratt, the author of the famous Corto Maltese, frequently dined with pleasure) has no menu card. Since they serve only fresh food, the day’s offerings are dependent entirely on the Venice fresh market.
The fish is particularly well prepared and the small soft crabs, when they are in season, are also excellent to eat fried. Thus only good surprises await you from the kitchen of Corte Sconta. Additionally, the desserts are also as good (and beautiful) as the antipasti and main entrees. A true Venetian kitchen.
Service is nice even if they note a small tendency to pomposity as in big restaurants. On the other end, the atmosphere and the customers are true Venetian ones. The tables and decor are simple without embellishments, but it will not bother you, as the true decor is on the plate! Plan 55 Euros per person.
