Where to Buy Great Chocolate in Venice

Chocolates VizioVirtù in Venice
Venice has a tradition of chocolate for centuries naturally linked to its navy and trade past
Long before many other countries, cocoa had acquired its letters of nobility here and the Venetian chocolate makers have remained leader in the field.
VizioVirtù
If you like chocolate, get ready for a big shock: VizioVirtù is more than a chocolate maker, it is simply Art.
If you know “La Maison du Chocolat” in Paris, VizioVirtu is comparable, and according to us, who know both brands, possibly even superior to chocolates of the Parisian brand.

Mariangela Penzo - VizioVirtù Chocolate maker
In effect, not only to VizioVirtù perfumes are delicate and exquisite, but Mariangela Penzo, the master chocolatier of the house, succeeds, above and beyond classical perfumes, in creating her own “Venetian” assortment of chocolates, including pumpkin, one of the ingredients that characterize the Venetian kitchen.
And believe us, pumpkin chocolates (the zucca) of VizioVirtù are a true triumph.
We also recommend that on a chilly day, to go and enjoy a mug of exceptional hot chocolate; the aroma alone will make you as intoxicated as a good glass of wine!

The Halloween window: entirely in chocolate!
Finally, know that the ambience of VizioVirtù is as pleasant as chocolate is delicious: people go there as much to gossip as to buy some chocolate!
We also want to especially thank our friend Camille of Longvilliers here who knew how to hunt out the VizioVirtù chocolate factory since the first days of its opening in spring of 2006.
Since then, we cannot pass any more in this quarter without opening the door of this magical place for all lovers of chocolate, and, when we are out of chocolate, we practically limp from our state of need!
Our opinion therefore to the gourmets: whether it is during your stay in Venice or to bring back to you the exquisite aroma of true chocolate, if you pass in the sestiere of San Polo, it is really an address not to be missed.
Small anecdote, on December 3rd, 2006, a competition between French and Italian chocolate makers took place in Palazzo Grassi and it is Italians with Mariangela Penzo that won! Now, it is up to you to decide!
